{UPDATED} Canada Emergency Student Benefit and Canada Student Service Grant

The Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB) will run from May to August, 2020 and provide $1,250 per month for eligible students. It will provide $1,750 per month for students with dependents or disabilities.
Eligible students include:
• Students currently enrolled in post-secondary education towards a degree, diploma or certificate
• Students who ended studies no earlier than December 2019
• High school graduates who will be joining post-secondary programs beginning before February 1, 2021

The Canada Student Service Grant will provide a grant of $5,000 towards fall tuition for students who engage in "national services" or "help their communities".
Additional relief measures include:
- Doubling the Canada Student Grants providing up to $6,000 and $3,600 for full and part-time students, respectively.
- Increase eligibility for financial assistance by removing expect student's and spouse's contributions in 2020-21.
- Increase Canada Student Loans funding from maximum weekly amount $210 to $350.
- An additional $75.2 million in funding for distinctions-based support for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Nation students.
